The Teaching of Mathematics is Evolving Rapidly

The MathSpeak conferences are a series of annual national conferences, they were inaugurated in London in Autumn 2013. An audience of senior maths teachers examined recent developments and latest issues concerning the teaching and assessment of Mathematics.

Goal of the Conferences:

To provide a forum for Mathematics teachers to share experience, see best practice and understand the latest developments in the teaching of mathematics to the 11 to 19 cohort primarily but not exclusively.

Audience:

- Mathematics teachers working in schools, further education colleges and similar institutions
- Leaders and Managers
- Organisations directly supporting them
- Management in service providers, awarding bodies, inspectorates, regulators, publishers, systems suppliers, trainers and recruiters.

2014 conference proved a fascinating and exciting event, and one at the heart of teaching Maths in the 21st Century
 

Programme:

Plenary sessions with high profile speakers at start and conclusion of the day, parallel sessions through the day on subjects such as

  • Problem Solving and getting the curriculum right
  • Key Stage IV and V approaches
  • Technology and Innovation
  • Changing Qualification Landscape and

The 2014 conference featured an expert panel in ‘Brains Trust’ session - sure to be a lively and informative session.
